United Way of Aroostook Releases Applications for Strategic Investments, Introducing a Transformative Funding Model
Aroostook County, ME – United Way of Aroostook is delighted to announce the opening of applications for its Strategic Investments. This year, the organization unveils an innovative funding model that encompasses four dedicated funds: Strategic Investment Fund, Hope Fund, Wheels for Work Fund, and the Response Fund.
The Strategic Investments initiative is designed to uplift local organizations and community projects that foster sustainable transformation for the residents of Aroostook County. This new funding model has been crafted to meet diverse community needs by offering targeted support in pivotal areas.
• Hope Fund: This fund aims to address the unmet needs of children, focusing particularly on dismantling barriers that prevent low-income children from partaking in enriching experiences that would otherwise be beyond their reach.
• Wheels for Work Fund: Dedicated to empowering individuals with reliable transportation, this fund is a vital resource for securing and maintaining employment. It provides essential services such as basic car repairs, tire replacements, registration, and inspections, enabling individuals to embark on or sustain their professional journeys.
• Response Fund: This fund is poised to address immediate community needs, empowering organizations to swiftly respond to emerging challenges and support vulnerable populations.
